1. What is the game schedule?
Unfortunately, there is no way to give a definitive answer until closer to Opening Day, April 15th.
Many working parts go into creating a league's schedule from coaching availability to field availability which includes waiting to learn district interleague schedules (up to 11 towns) to be confirmed in late March/early April.
There will be practices once teams are drafted/created. The schedule is to be determined.
2. How can I help make Groton Little League better? You can volunteer to assist a team (including team parents who help the team management communicate with the team), work concessions, do field maintenance, or serve on board are just a few opportunities. Please register for the current season as a volunteer at
https://www.grotonlittleleague.com.
3. Why are fees higher than last year? We wanted to provide a breakdown of costs by player. In the past, we have "eaten" many rising costs, but we cannot keep doing this and keep the league viable. We have some fundraising plans for this year which may help us further defray costs.
4. Is there a multi-sibling discount?Yes, please contact
[email protected] for the 20% off coupon code for two or more siblings, living in the same household. If you paid before 2/16/2023, we will refund the discount amount.
5. Are payment plans available?Yes, we can set it up for your credit/debit card is charged on a schedule that works for you. Please contact
[email protected] to make arrangements.
6. What if I can't pay for my player(s)? No child will be denied the ability to play at Groton Little League due to financial hardship. Scholarships are available, all we ask for is a volunteer commitment from guardians. Please complete
this form and return to
[email protected].
7. Who needs to tryout? Any player age 8 and over needs to tryout this year. We are redrafting all teams.
The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year.
8. When are tryouts? We cannot get onto Groton Town or Groton City fields until April 4th. We are working on finding indoor locations for tryouts, hopefully for mid March.
